Modern Slavery Statement
Kensington Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Kensington Movers takes to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly, and to ensuring that the rights and dignity of every individual connected to our services are respected and protected.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Kensington Movers operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with or support any business, organisation, or individual involved in these practices. This commitment applies to all employees, agency staff, contractors, and suppliers engaged in the provision of moving, relocation, storage, and associated services.
All business decisions, from procurement to recruitment, must align with this policy. Any breach, or suspected breach, of this policy is treated as a serious matter that may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Supply Chain and Risk Management
Our supply chain includes providers of transport, equipment, packing materials, warehousing, cleaning, facilities management, and professional services. We recognise that modern slavery risks can arise at any point along this chain, particularly where there are complex subcontracting arrangements, low-skilled labour, or cross-border activities.
To manage these risks, we seek to work with reputable partners who share our values and can demonstrate their own commitment to ethical business practices. We assess the relative risk associated with categories of suppliers and prioritise our scrutiny where the likelihood of labour exploitation is higher.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Kensington Movers expects all suppliers and contractors to operate in full compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. We require suppliers, where relevant, to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that they prohibit human trafficking in their own operations and supply chains.
We are developing a programme of supplier assessments and audits, which may include requests for policy and process documentation, on-site visits where appropriate, and verification of working conditions. Where non-compliance or suspected exploitation is identified, we will work with the supplier to establish corrective actions and clear timelines for improvement. If adequate remediation cannot be achieved, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Employee Awareness and Responsibilities
All employees of Kensington Movers share responsibility for upholding this Modern Slavery Statement. We aim to raise awareness of the signs of modern slavery, including indicators such as restriction of movement, withholding of documents, or signs of coercion, and to encourage staff to report any concerns without delay.
Managers are responsible for promoting a culture of integrity and respect, and for ensuring that recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day management are conducted in line with our zero-tolerance approach. We do not charge recruitment fees, and we require that all workers are engaged on fair terms with clarity over pay, hours, and conditions.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Kensington Movers encourages employees, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to speak up if they suspect any instance of modern slavery or human trafficking linked to our business. Concerns can be raised internally via line managers or senior management, or through established whistleblowing channels within the company.
All reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith from retaliation or adverse treatment. Where credible evidence of modern slavery is found, we will take swift action, seek to protect victims, and cooperate with relevant authorities as required.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement forms part of our broader commitment to responsible business and continuous improvement. We will review and, where necessary, update this statement and our related procedures at least once every year, or more frequently if there are significant changes in legislation, operations, or risk profile.
During each annual review, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our actions, consider feedback from employees and suppliers, analyse any incidents or concerns reported, and identify opportunities to strengthen our controls. Our goal is to continuously enhance transparency, accountability, and protection for all individuals connected with Kensington Movers and our supply chain.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Kensington Movers and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery in all aspects of our business.
